BRAND CAMPAIGN

Volvo: promotional design for a brand event

Promotional design for an established, globally recognised brand, where the job is applying an existing visual language, not inventing one.

The brief

Promotional design work for a Volvo Cars event, materials built to support the launch and drive attendance. Designing for an established, globally recognised automotive brand comes with a very different constraint than designing a brand from scratch: the job isn't to invent a visual language, it's to apply an existing one correctly and confidently enough that the promotional materials feel like a natural extension of Volvo, not an outside agency's interpretation of it.

Fika Café tie-in flyer for the Volvo event: café branding, a short blurb on the Swedish concept of fika, and a menu of Nordic-inspired snacks and drinks

The event partnered with a Fika Café concept, extending the promotional language to a menu and flyer rather than stopping at the car.

Plug-In Hybrid Concept Store materials: the store invite with address and visiting hours, a product exchange tag listing the two dealerships, and the front and back of the store's announcement hang tag

The Plug-In Hybrid Concept Store's supporting pieces: invite, exchange tag, and hang tag front and back.

Four Volvo campaign posters: Save the Date for the XC60 D5, the Pop Up Store test-drive invite, a dedicated Test Drive poster, and Save the Date for the S60 launch in Santiago

The campaign's poster set: save-the-dates, the pop-up invite, and the test-drive activations.

A brand-history timeline

Alongside the event materials, a brand-heritage timeline: from the two friends who founded Volvo in Sweden in 1927 through the safety milestones, the P1800's turn as a TV icon, the arrival in Brazil, and the 2025 electrification commitment, grounding the campaign's promotional language in almost a century of the brand's own history.

Volvo brand history timeline from 1927 to 2025, in Portuguese: founding of Volvo in Sweden, the PV654 and PV444, the three-point seatbelt in 1959, the P1800 and 'The Saint', arrival in Brazil in 1991, the S80 sedan, and the 2025 electrification goal, under the quote 'We make cars that understand drivers' from CEO Håkan Samuelsson

Nearly a century of milestones, condensed into one scrollable strip: safety firsts, cultural cameos, and the road to electrification.
